Joey Brooks

Embarking on a journey towards what clients often describe as “healing” or “growing” may be overwhelming and frightening. I strive to meet my clients in that space of fear as a guide.

Someone, who will intently listen to understand your experiences, your desires, and your dreams; as well as comprehend the history that may shape your doubts, worries, and nightmares. In this way, you and I will blend your past, current, and future concerns with research-informed approaches for exploring, understanding, and addressing your voyage toward empowerment.

I have insights into navigating life circumstances & trauma-related challenges that can impact poor self-image, people-pleasing behaviors, self-loathing, identity concerns, stress, sexuality, & mood management. I combine empirical strategies with warm person-centered techniques to help clients work towards a version of self that feels ready to face life. My work will integrate various information concerning attachment theory( understanding how we connect with others and why), internal family systems/ parts work (learning to accept rejected parts of self), EMDR (neurological reprocessing of trauma), and other trauma-focused approaches.
I look forward to establishing an environment of safety, respect, and kindness that may have felt elusive before our time together.

Emma believes that the client holds the power to create change in their life and can reach new heights with healing and intention. With a sunny disposition and empathic nature, Emma creates an environment for her clients where they feel heard, understood, and a little lighter in spirit.

I am deeply committed to the belief that everyone deserves to live a happy and fulfilling life, embracing their self-worth and sense of empowerment. My dedication lies in supporting women, children, immigrants, and refugees. Drawing on my personal experiences and professional training, I strive to empathize with and stand up for those navigating life’s complexities. My ultimate goal is to help individuals heal from their trauma, discover their potential, and find fulfillment, using my education and personal background to make a real impact in their lives. Additionally, I am able to provide therapy sessions in Spanish, which is my native language. Through my own experiences, I have gained a deep understanding of the immigrant experience, especially the challenges faced by women and children. This journey has not only shaped my perspective but has also ignited my passion for social justice and empowerment. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Concordia University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Dominican University, I focused on trauma and global immigrants and refugees, driven by my commitment to serving marginalized communities. My approach is holistic and compassionate, aiming to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued. I firmly believe that empowerment is not just an individual journey but a collective one, where shared experiences and understanding can lead to meaningful change.

Tangee Moscoso

Tangee is the owner and founder of Holistic Mental Health Wellness Inc., which originated long before it was founded in 2015. Tangee started in the field of psychiatry in 2005, as a floor nurse at an urban hospital in Chicago. There, she saw how the deprivation of social, physical, mental, spiritual nurturing, and love from others and towards ourselves can impact one’s psyche.

As Tangee went through her own healing journey, she awakened to this inner knowing that challenges were indeed opportunities which ultimately lead us to align with our higher power. As Tangee started practicing as an APN, after graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago, she soon found that though there is a place for medication in the treatment of psychiatric illnesses, in particular; one cannot ignore that there are holistic options that don’t only treat the symptoms but can heal at the core of the problem.

Student Opportunities

Designed to inspire and inform the next generation of mental health and wellness professionals, our internship program allows students to learn from experienced trauma therapists, building skills to become the wellness professionals they aspire to be.
